I am so proud of my ladies from Sunnyside! AND, of course, the gals not from Sunnyside, but that are joining us on this weight loss journey! Each has shared their reasons for doing this, their hopes in what they are working to accomplish and each has made a commitment to themselves, their families and friends to do everything they need to do to reach those goals to lose weight, get healthy, feel better.
As part of keeping my commitment to them as their coach, I am doing the DETOX week right along with them. For me that means No coffee this past couple of days, no sugar, no dairy or protein and no grains or fats. Even though this is not the first time for Detox for myself, it is still a commitment and a choice every time I put something into my body. AND it is hard. I remember just how hard it was that first time. Wasn’t really sure I was going to be able to get through it, but found that I could do ANYTHING for Seven, then Six, then Five, then Four, lol, days.
AND the amazing feeling I got that first time I did not have SUCK IT IN in order to button my jeans, and the first time my pants were just TOO BIG, whoo HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Then when I realized I was sleeping through the night so much more regularly or when I realized that my asthma meds were needed less and less or when I was waking up BEFORE the alarm went off (with enough energy to actually get out of bed early), well I am so anxious to share those accomplishments with this group.
Sooooooooooooo, ladies, Yes, Avocados are allowed – 1/4 of one is a serving. No fruit juice is NOT a preferred drink, the concentration of sugar is so much higher in fruit juice and the fiber is so much lower. Yes, you can cook your vegetables; the more raw you can eat the better, but steaming, sauteing in vegetable broth, baking is ok. You will most likely find that your taste buds are starting to change by day 3 or 4 and you might just start preferring your vegetables less mushy.
I am so proud of each and every one of you! Keep it up,
Skinny hugs to all,
